This November 15th the G20 will decide for everybody. This is their democracy

The Heads of Government of the most powerful States are gathering together on November 15th and 16th in order to decide about the future of the system which has come to its deepest crisis since the one from the 29, at least. They are talking about reformulating the financial system, refounding capitalism, and they will do it without consulting us.

Only the countries from G-20 are invited to this summit, this demonstrates how they want to decide from the elite. It isn't even seeked neither support nor participation from the United Nations assembly, the only democratic organ amongst countries which had created the current world order. So from the 192 UN former countries, there will be only over 10% of them attending to this meeting.

The 20 present Heads of State will not talk either on behalf of the population of their countries, neither on behalf of those which voted for them in its day, as the agreements they are about to reach in the summit were not in their political programs. Nevertheless, none of them thought about holding their proposals to referendum and beyond a shadow of a doubt they will not discuss in the summit about holding their agreements to referendum to the population of these 20 countries and far from it, to the world population.

So, who will Obama, Sarkozy, Merkel, Lula and Co. decide on behalf of? We could think they will do it on their behalf and on behalf of their advisors. On behalf of the leading bureaucratic government structures and if we take into account waich decissions they use to take we will be provably agree that they will do it mostly on behalf of the financial powers which have caused this crisis or on behalf of the main transnational companies.

The unfair economic decissions from the governments in favour of banks and against the majority of the people which will have preceded the summit during the last weeks, together with its antidemocratic process are fortunately arousing many responses amongst the civil society which are anouncing some mobilisations which are expected to be massive.

As Einstein said, a problem can not be solved by the same way of thinking that caused it. Every time, there's more and more people who are clear about this situation and on November, 15th there will be demonstrations all around the world. A coalition of 630 NGOs has issued a declaration http://www.choike.org/bw2 which denounces the summit because of its format and its continual nature, one from an unsuccessful system. It states specifically how a world summit should be in order to be completely democratic and participative. The NGOs are also asking to listen to the international financial system work group which has been created recently by the UN, directed by Joseph Stiglitz.

In the Spanish State there is a widely spread call for action http://www.17-s.info/todxs-la-calle-el-15-n-la-crisis-que-la-paguen-ello... which summons to demonstrations in more than 50 different cities and in the Catalan scope, there are various coordination spaces from the social movemens as vdevivienda, the degrowth network, the campaign against the 65 hours and the assembly for social movements from the catalan social forum wich have joined forces to widen and strengthen the call for November, 15th and to organise a united demonstration on November 29th.

These demonstrations are one starting point and it will be necessary to go further beyond to reach that the social society can be the main decissor of its own future. It won't be enough just organising demonstrations; continuous actions will be required, disobedience ones, boycott and non collaboration with the financial system. Acting against the system won't be enough, above all, it will be necessary to set out and build the society alternatives from now on, by which we will show that it is possible to live without economic growth and without banks.

Through www.17-s.info we are spreading, and will continue doing it as much as possible, all the information about these demonstrations and we will take part in promoting actions wich allow us to move forward another society based on social and ecological justice, now more than ever.

To conclude, I would like to recover a slogan which moved tens of thousands of people in 2002, in the campaign against the Europe of Capital and War and which continues to be of full significance nowadays: Because we are millions and the planet is not yours!!
